The TeraFlex TJ: NP231-J 2Low 2WD Low-Range Shift Sector Kit adds a low-range 2WD/RWD (two-wheel-drive/rear-wheel-drive) option to the TJ Wrangler/Unlimited models’ NP231-J transfer case’s standard low-range shift pattern.

This kit enhances trail turning ability by allowing tighter turns on narrow switchbacks and eliminates most front-end bind encountered while turning with 4WD (four-wheel-drive) engaged.

This internal modification does not require any external upgrades.

New Shift Pattern:

• 2H > 4H > N > 4L > 2L

Fits:

• TJ Wrangler (short wheelbase)

• LJ Wrangler Unlimited (long wheelbase)

• w/ NP231-J transfer case

Includes:

• 2Low range fork

Got this item from Amazon in early July 2020. The NP231-J 2Low 2WD Low-Range Shift Sector Kit is a no-brainer to install when one does a SYE refit on a NP231. Especially when there's a 3 --> 6 gear planetary swap (from a NP241) along with installing a 25% wider 1" to 1.25" (Dodge 3/4-ton truck chain). Easy to install when you follow the supplied instruction that come with the 2WD low kit. When 2WD low used for the 1st time on a small traditional 2 door Jeep that has front & rear auto-lockers, this NP231-J 2Low 2WD Low-Range Shift Sector Kit pays for itself when you it gives you a huge smile + knowing it'll be there when it's needed badly in a tight situation. Very well made in the USA, robust like the original Spicer NP231 sector shaft & fork it replaces, worth the fiat $$ to get it & quite Impressive!!!
