The new Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount for the JL Wrangler/Unlimited builds on the successful design we pioneered for the JK Wrangler/Unlimited. With many JL owners stepping up to larger tires than those commonly found on JK models, we increased the strength of the Hinged Spare Tire Carrier by bolting it on internally as well as increasing the span across the tailgate for more mounting holes. The Adjustable Spare Tire Mount features 3rd Brake Light and rearview camera mounting. The assembly includes several additional mounting holes for accessories such as a Hi-Lift Jack Mount Bracket/RotopaX Mount Bracket and/or CB Antenna & Flag Whip Mount Bracket and/or custom accessory mounts.

Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier | Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount

Designed to accommodate up to a 40” tire, the TeraFlex JL: Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount will secure your full-size spare tire over the most extreme trails and rugged terrain. It also provides easy access to the rear cargo area in one smooth action.

4838900 – JL: Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier Kit

Using the factory tailgate hinge mounting points spreads the load of the spare tire over a larger area for maximum strength and durability. Internal gussets and bracing in the stock JL body supports the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier and oversized tire, which eliminates all stress from the tailgate.

Compared to the JK piece, the new JL: Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier spans nearly the width of the tailgate for better weight distribution. Additionally, the updated design features a one-piece, forged steel hinge that ties the top and bottom factory hinge locations together as well as additional vertical braces for increased strength.

The Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier also provides additional mounting points for off-road accessories such as a recovery jack and fluid containers. The adjustable Tire Carrier is constructed from strong and lightweight 6061-T6 extruded aluminum.

Although the Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount can be used alone, it has been designed to be installed in conjunction with the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier. The Tire Mount can support the additional weight of a full-size spare tire by securely mounting the tire to the Tire Carrier and tailgate. Complete adjustability includes vertical as well as fore and aft adjustments.

The Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount Kit includes a quick-release 3rd Brake Light Mount and billet aluminum Rearview Camera Mount. The heavily gusseted Tire Mount is formed and welded from CNC laser-cut steel for superior strength.
