JL/JT: Front Axle Disconnect (FAD) Delete Cover Plate.
Simplify your Jeep's front axle and eliminate potential failure points with the TeraFlex Front Axle Disconnect (FAD) Delete Cover Plate. The factory FAD system uses an electronic actuator and sliding collar to connect and disconnect the passenger-side axle shaft. While the system works, it also adds extra gears, electronics, sensors, and moving parts that can cause problems on the street or trail.
When converting to one-piece axle shafts, the factory FAD actuator, gears, sliding collar, and related internal components are removed. This CNC-machined 6061 aluminum cover replaces the factory actuator assembly and seals the opening in the axle housing. Simplify your JL/JT front axle by removing the factory FAD actuator, gears, and sliding collar. This satin-black aluminum cover seals the housing when upgrading to one-piece Chromoly axle shafts.
Fitment and Installation Notes
- Factory axle shafts will not work with this conversion. Since you'll already be replacing the shafts, it's the perfect time to upgrade to TeraFlex Chromoly one-piece axle shafts - especially now that TeraFlex axle shafts are available for Rubicon Dana 44 front axles.
- A programmer such as a Tazer is required to disable the factory FAD system and prevent related warning lights.
